As others have suggested, if possible your spouse should pursue her own path to GC through H1B employer as a realistic option. IV members would help in the job search.

Attorney got the receipts today FINALLYYYYYYYYYYY.... No update on my EAD/AP but spouse EAD "ordered"... One Hurdle cleared....

Didn't Logfren ask that question to USCIS during last July?
actually the other question is why doesnt Murthy or IV asks the USCIS (whenever they get a chance to meet) ..to give a breakdown of the 485 pending by category by country. one would hope that atleast someone in uscis has access to such reports .. any idea, thoughts ??

Why did you file EAD? Waste of money. You will be getting your GC anytime. EB2 ROW is curent.
Yes it is current. But I don't know when they'll be approving it. Besides now we pay $1010 for I-485/131/765. There's no breakdown.

been in us since 1999 and lost my earlier priorty date and now my priority date is Jan 2007...it sucks...the only good thing is i now have EAD and AP. everyone who is here fro last 5-6 years should be current with priority dates..

The applications recrived at TEXAS on 1st JUN started receiving recepit notices. One of my friends checks got cleared today. :confused: As per my analysys nebraska had a 6 day lag till Jan 1st. Lets see.

How about we come up with a skit where we can reenact the drama about the whole episode in a funny way. Where we can have people portraying roles of USCIS Director, Secrtary of State, Immigrants calling franctically to India to get their documents, parents running around to get doucments, the start of rumor, the employees of uscis working on sunday to adjudicate the cases, then the flip flop of DOS. etc. Then we can put this on youtube and will attract publicity.

Santosh_gc, I don't have a problem when you talk about illegals getting ahead of legals etc. But the comment about illegal immigrants bringing corruption into the U.S. was way out of line. It is unfair that illegal immigrants may get ahead of legal immigrants. Let us leave it at that and not speculate on how they might introduce corruption into society. No discussions on how they break the law when they enter the country - that is a bogus argument. Just about every one of us breaks the law every time he/she gets behind the wheel of a car, unless you claim you always drive the speed limit. By your logic, then every immigrant from India can be disallowed as we are exposed to as much corruption in India as there is in Mexico and we might infect the U.S. culture just as much. Just got email. No card yet.
Current Status: Card production ordered.
On July 26, 2008, we ordered production of your new card

Another thing I just noticed is a LUD on my I-140 which was approved a year ago ( july5th 2007)
The lud happened on 7/27/2008.
I got my card today.
It starts on the next day of my old cards expiry date.
Validity is for one year only though.
Current Status: Card production ordered.

AFIK, none will get affected. Please look for my earlier posts regarding I485 Derivative application pre-requisites.

Chan is right. If interpretation will start the way you are proposing, it will be sheer disaster for people who didn't file I-485 yet.
