Up to 25 percent of people in whom psychiatrists would currently diagnose depression may only be reacting normally to stressful events such as a divorce or losing a job, according to a new analysis that reexamined how the standard diagnostic criteria are used.
The study also suggested that drug treatment may often be inappropriate for people who are experiencing painful -- but normal -- responses to life's stresses. Supportive therapy, on the other hand, may be useful -- and may keep someone who has been through a divorce or has lost a job from going on to develop full-blown depression.
The cost of not looking at context is you think anyone who comes under this diagnosis has a biological disorder, so should more or less automatically get antidepressant medication, and everything else is superfluous," said lead author Jerome Wakefield, a New York University researcher who studies the conceptual foundations of psychiatry. I have a unique position. couple of weeks back I was told that have fatal cancer and won't live pass 4-6 months. After recovering from initial shock I am wondering if my wife will be able to continue her american dream or she will have to head home after me.
I have filed 485 with approved 140 back in june, 2007 with PD of March, 2003
Please help.

As all expressed, I was too uttlerly shocked to my guts and went blank for a while. Obviously do not know the answer and feeling helpless not be able to show you the path. But be calm and confident. I pray to GOD for giving you and your family a strength to deal with this shocking reality. I hope your lawyer can help you out of this. As far as medical diagnostic and treatment is concerned, I would request you to have second opinion from best doctors in India.

That's nice to hear. Can he guess what would be the likely outcome? If the judge just takes USCIS/DOS to task then it doesn't help us.
1. Will they make the July visa bulletin current again?
2. If not, will they allow everyone to file for EAD and AP?
3. If neither #1 nor #2, will there be any financial reimbursement?

Am in the bay area..
Just reading this thread, so not sure if I can attend today.
Will surely attend the rally with my wife on July14th.
Just a thought..Why not request all our GC/citizen friends to also attend?
I will persuade all my friends to attend.
If not anything, they can see it as a nice stroll in the downtown.

Look man, I don't know who you are and what's your story. But I do know this. Giving a false impression to others and misleading others on this forum and on any other forum is not going to help. You seem to project that only you care for the issue of country-limits. I think the better description is, you only care for the removal of country limits till the day you get your green card. You do NOT want to remove country limits on EB beyond the date you receive the approval of your application. Giving a false impression to a few on this forum that temporarily removal of country limits will be easier than permanent removal of country limits is just WRONG.
After IV admin posted for the media interview few days back, I sent them an email expressing my willingness to speak with the press. I spoke with Vivek Wadhwa at length last week about this issue. Vivek Wadhwa article in Washington Post covers the issue of country limits where as his previous articles have not covered this issue.

Its disgusting that rather than working with others to fix this complicated and difficult issue, you continue to beat your own drum, without actually doing anything, but at the same time hurting the issue you claim you care for. And on top of that you want to remove the country limits only until you get your green card. Is that rationale to you in any which way?????? No. Is your action selfish????? YES.

Judicial Review is when the Supreme Court reviews an act of Congress to see if it is Constitutional.
Judicial Review is the power of the Supreme Court to declare a law unconstitutuion (violation against the laws of the Constitutuion).

I never had a soft LUD on my 485 because of EAD renewal.... But one time I saw it, but my lawyers filed AC21 around the same time.... So I would think it was because of AC21.... So I was always under the impression that EAD renewal has no LUD's on 485, based on my experience
My wife got a soft LUD on 8/21. She has PD of Dec 2005 EB2 (I). I wa shappy to see some activity but then i saw the following thread (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/forum5-all-other-green-card-issues/1599851-ead-renewal-but-i-485-update.html#post1981520) . No one has to do a vote on scrapping CIR. The absence of any activity towards appointing a conference committee and scheduling a conference committee to reconcile differences between House immigration reform bill(HR 4437) and Senate immigration reform bill (S 2611) would cause both bills to stay as-is in house and senate respectively without making any progress towards becoming a law.
No one has to formalize this. Not working on it is good enough to kill reform. I dont think anyone is going to come out and say "CIR is dead". However, if house and senate leadership indicate that "we need more time to read Senate's bill", or we need more time to understand and "Hold hearings" etc, its evident that they want to throw roadblocks and postpone it. Which is the same as pushing the bill to its grave.

I can read and feel the anger and frustration. But I have seen this every time a retrogressed visa bulletin was released in last ten years. Appeals for unity and and urgent need for action. However, it turned out to be a storm in a tea cup. Hope its gonna be different this time.

I am seeing that reedandbamboo is considering for EB2 only. We have to include EB3 too for law-suit. I beleive that we will have more than 1000 people if we inlcude all categories.
I will give 200$( 100$ for me and 100 $ for my wife)
MY LETTER addresses the situation with the visa bulletin using EB2 as an EXAMPLE! I want them to scrutinise their visa bulletin setting technique for EVERYONE but I'm highlighting with a specific example.
The lawsuit, in the event that the letter is ineffective (more likely than not.. but still worthwhile starting with) is for EVERYONE.
