Not much idea about Australia but you don't want to go Down Under. It's very racist and discriminatory in every aspect. Besides, the accent.... OMG... simply unbearable :mad:

All in all Oz is a bigger hell. The only thing good there is the 3 Bs - Beer, Beaches and the Babes. But you better stay away from them because they are not very approachable for the people of color.
I work with a lot of people from OZ, they tell me it is not as bad as it sounds, but then, if we enter their space, the treatment would be different I guess.

As we wait for the Senate debate to move along, I know there is a great deal of restlessness and a desire to have something, anything happen. A need for reassurance that something will happen fast, or that provision X will be signed into law by ZZZ date.
I am starting this thread for such questions. Otherwise we have an ever proliferating set of threads with very specific questions like "can we have provision X become its own bill and have it signed by next Friday so I can go home and stop worrying?":)
I will move such posts in to this thread.
We will do our best to answer these questions. Hang in there, keep heart.

I am going to use AC21 and H1 transfer. Now my situation is with wife status. Any information is appericiated
Wife Came in USA on H4 Visa
Then Convert it t0 H1
Now She activated her EAD and working fulltime.
Can she go back to H4 now. I am a primary applicant for GC.

Since your H-1B change of status is approved, you are in H-1B Status now. In order to continue working on H-1B status after overseas trip, you must enter USA using H-1B visa stamp. This may require you to apply and get new H-1B visa stamp.

We are not in Chicago. Their POE is in Chicago. I may have to go to the local USCIS office and clarify it.
I am also checking with the Attorney.
You can go to the closest international airport's CBP. USCIS local office cannot do anything about it. Only CBP can.

No point in bashing Indian companies. As they are going political on this issue, my cousin just graduated from School and does not have a job, his dad thinks that his son lost his competitve spirit and is unable to compete for a job, while we all know the actual situation which is pathetic for new h1b seekers.
IV mebers - though our focus is on GC backlog and retrogression - lets all not forget that these are also big issues, especially new immigrants seeking h1b etc...
For those who do not care about families - tearing families is the worst thing that can ever happen and if you are on that side, you will understand the pain.
And for those who think CIR failed which is good for us - just think about the 12 million illegals and walk in their shoes - what goes through them - CIR is their only hope.
Right CIR is their only hope .... for a person who came illegally ... right ...and unfortunately they don't know if they cross the boarder illegally they will be separated from families .... not considering that is immoral on govt part ... :) :) :)

There is a news in news article thread that Senators Cantwell & Kyl have proposed a amendment which will open up a parallel employer sponsored GC path. Anyone has information regarding this amendment?
If I am not wrong that amendment has been changed considerably.
the new amendment states that Employer abased GC will be phased out in 5 yrs and then merit based kicks in
H1B quota for US Master's Grad is 40K according to the amendment.

I agree, I wanted to take everybodys perspective on my guess. Also, 2004 is the only year which can be predictable, after that everything went haywire for EB2.

Thanks for your interest. We did consider all three of them but when we did more research, we found that all three of them did not get their Green Card on EB category. They had come here because their parents had come here.

i don't normally go for tricked-up stuff, but this one kind of hooked me. I did the "Ansel Adams" conversion to B&W which gave me a contrasty and "antique' look. Then I merged it with the original at about 45%.
This gave the shot a very surreal look.

It is my turn to receive the "Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident" today. My depenedents are yet to receive this mail. This forum, Immigration-law, Immigration portal by Rajiv Khanna and many other immigration lawyers' websites like Murthy's etc were very useful to understand the immigration laws.
I did everything myself (EB2-NIW - India) - I140, I485, AP and EAD and my PD (I140 RD) and I485 RD are 08-30-2005.
I did make a one time conribution of $100.00 to IV.

What if H1-B extension is for last 3 years of total 6 years? It means,my first 3 years are ending in nov 07, and if I file 485, will I get 3 years of extension or 1 yr extension?

Yes this option is open...the sitiuation is getting ridicilous by the day..lets wait for couple of months so see if SKIL OR CIR take some direction..meanwhile nothin prevents us from preparing
